Welcome August!!

Summer is my favorite season of the year! I love being outside enjoying the sun, despite the warnings from my dermatologist! Although I have to get out fairly early to beat the heat, I enjoy walks in nature and meditation times outside on my porch or even by some sort of water setting. I am always trying to plan little getaways to the beach or some other water destination. If summer is your season, you probably just feel better when the sun is out or you are able to get outside and get your feet in the dirt or sand. There is scientific evidence that bare feet in the dirt is actually good for your health! Wow I wish I could get in on some of these research studies. Wouldn't it be great to get paid to analyse the benefits of putting your bare feet in dirt.

This month, August 2023 is a 6 month. We arrive at that number by adding the numbers of 2023 (2+0+2+3=7) to the 8 from August being the eighth month of the year. (8+7=15, 1+5=6)

In numerology, 6 is the number of relationships. Often, we think of relationships as our primary love relationship, but this is not always the case. We have relationships with our friends, our family, our work associates, our bosses, our employees if we are the boss, and even the grocery store clerk and the mailman.

Back in the latter part of July, Venus went retrograde and joined a few other planets giving us the illusion from Earth that they had started going backwards in the sky. When Venus in particular goes retrograde, it is always best to be a little more thrifty with your money, as Venus rules our finances, and our relationships often go through a bit of a reset.

This month, we have numerology, astrology and the Tarot all pointing to relationships and maybe hinting around that if we have some unhealed or unresolved issues in our relationships, August may be the month to focus on fixing that!

For me, I have a trip planned with my sister, my daughter and our kids and grandkids. We will have plenty of time to work on the dynamics of our relationship to one another! We will be challenged to spend enough to have a good time, but not too much that we will regret later!

So the Tarot cards associated with the numbers 15 and 6 are the Devil and the Lovers.

Here we have two very different depictions of two people and their relationship to one another and to the energies that are influencing them.

In the Lovers card, two people (remember these Tarot depictions transcend male and female despite the pictures), are being faced with some choices. Their relationship to one another is being influenced by some very important forces. For the most part, the relationship seems healthy, but if one or both of them make certain choices, that could change. There is a snake there which reminds us of the myth of Adam and Eve and the choices that changed the fate of humanity. The snake symbolizes knowledge. When we know something, we can't NOT know it just because perhaps the knowledge is unsettling. Ultimately, the knowledge and the choices we make because of what we know or learn about one another lead us to a better and more empowered version of ourselves in the relationship.

The Devil card represents what keeps us chained up or imprisoned to another person or to a situation that is not healthy. The devil is not the bad guy here. The devil is the one who is drawing attention to the situation and creating an atmosphere for the two people that are chained up to seek freedom or to heal. Thus, the Devil card represents anything that chains us up or keeps us prisoner in some way. It can be the card of addictions. It can be the card of debt or financial ruin. It can be the card of an unhappy relationship or a disfunctional family. It can be the card of an unhappy work situation. Whatever is creating struggle for you needs to be addressed this month!

You know how Google sends you articles or hints on your feed about things it thinks may be important to you? I have heard a smidgen of whispers that the financial market may take a hit this month. This fits with the devil card and the Venus retrograde. You may want to be a bit conservative in your spending, or do a little research on where you are investing your money. I am not a doomsday prophet. In fact, because of my fire and brimstone Pentecostal upbringing when we were always expecting the Great Tribulation at any moment, I really back off from any doomsday predictions. I believe that as long as we are connected with our highest good and Divine Love, we will be okay. But if your inner knowing begins to prompt you to move your investments around, then follow that prompting.

In summary:

This month may be a month to focus on your relationships. You may find yourself spending more time with people in your life or you may have some issues come up which require your focus and attention. If there are any unresolved issues in the area of relationships this month, you may need to spend some time doing some healing work or finding some closure.

Just be a little more careful in the area of finances.

Collectively we as a human species need to work on our relationship with one another and with the planet we call home. We really need to work on loving everyone despite differences in opinion, political beliefs, skin color, gender identity, belief differences, and all of the things we allow to divide us. We need to work together to insure that our planet is livable for our children and grandchildren. We need to poke a hole in the greed that runs society which may require some sort of reset.

Remember to embody the energy of your highest good and Divine Love and Joy. Send it out to others and keep some for yourself. Know that all is well. If it doesn't feel like all is well, this too shall pass.
